New research in Fish and Fisheriesby Hoffmann Fellow Alfredo Giron-Nava and collaborators at the University of British Columbia, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and UC Santa Barbara suggests that while sustainable fisheries are essential for ocean health and a “Blue Economy”, they are not enough to ensure well-being for fishers around the world.
