INVESTABLE OCEANS

Welcome to our June Newsletter.

The last few weeks have been hectic, but good for the oceans with a near constant stream of conferences, announcements and actions over the past month and a half. This week, the United Nations and global oceans community commemorated World Oceans Day on June 8th with the theme of Life and Livelihoods , and Investable Oceans was grateful to be included in the UN panel Blue Economy and Private Sector Impact . We participated in numerous other events this past month, including the launch of 1000 Ocean Startups and the Ocean Visions 2021 Summit .

New on the site this month: an increased focus on sustainable seafood. The website now features a new Sustainable Seafood Zone (located under the Learn tab) that aggregates all relevant content from the Investable Oceans site on one page: research, news, innovations, films, podcasts and of course… investments. Please explore this new section, which includes an addition to our popular “ 101 Explainer ” series by our own Vanessa Fajans-Turner.

Upcoming events this month: we look forward to hosting a panel in partnership with DLA Piper this coming Wednesday, June 16th, titled Blue Bonds: Accelerating the Blue Economy . Our goal is to explain the different types of Blue Bonds currently in the market, as well as discuss future opportunities and challenges for this important sector. We will be joined by an outstanding group of panelists from multiple disciplines, and if you’d like to read up ahead of time we’ve created a Blue Bonds Zone on the site as well (our fourth zone) that has numerous relevant research reports and news stories.

Below, we’ve included a sampling of our current content. We encourage you to browse the site at your convenience; there’s a lot of opportunities to learn and engage. Please note that the majority of investment opportunities remain visible only to registered site users who are approved as accredited investors.

Thank you, as always, for your interest.
